Avocado Soap

Okay, so for those of you that know me in person, you know what problem I used to have with oily skin on my face.

Well, this soap is a MIRACLE worker.

 

There's not much else I can say other than: it works! 

I used to agonise over the excessive amount of oil that used to come out of my face. I had tried almost everything on the market and then my friend gave me this soap. I gave it a try and WOW, my skin felt so clean and fresh, the effects lasted for about 4 hours. Once I tried them with my old moisturizer they lasted for about 6-7 hours. I have yet to try Forever's own moisturizer as I think this will have a more long lasting effect as I wouldn't be mixing natural products and chemicals. 

This soap isn't just good for those with oily skin on their face though. It worked out exactly the same way on the dry skin on my upper arms. How? well, avocados and their oil have been used in beauty products for years and years. However usually they pack them with so many chemicals that the effects of avocado become null. 

The reason avocados are used, whether on dry or oily skin, is because they are filled with vitamin A and what's called glutamine amino acid. The vitamin A gets rid of any dead skin cells which might be present, these dead skin cells are sometimes the cause of dry skin. Oily skin occurs when there are impurities in your pores, which is why you don't always have the same amount of oil on your skin. This is where the amino acid comes in, it cleanses your skin and gives it enough protection against harsh environmental factors such as airborne dust particles. 

This bar of soap costs only 5.90 EUR here in Malta, it lasts much longer than regular soap bars, I've already been using it everyday for a month and I have about half of it left.

Salon-like Hair

I never thought this could happen but it finally has.

I bought the Sonya Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner as part of my Forever Living Starter Pack and tried them that night when I got home.

It had been a long day and I was aching to go home, I had a headache and the thought of sticking my head under some warm running water for an hour already made my head feel a little better.

As I was sitting there, I thought why not take the opportunity to try the new shampoo and conditioner and Marine mask I had bought. (read my blog on the Marine mask here) I opened the bottles and was immediately impressed by the fact that the bottle was sealed in foil under the cap. I don't know why but I always feel like the product is fresher when it's sealed like that.

I have a habit of combing my hair after lathering in the shampoo, the problem with this is that it dries out my hair even more than it already is when the shampoo isn't good enough. This time however the comb simply glided through my hair and made de-knotting it much, much, much, easier.

After I washed out the shampoo, naturally the conditioner was next and the first thing I noticed was that the conditioner was much thicker than the others I had tried before. The word I would use to describe the feeling while I was working the conditioner into my hair is LUXURIOUS!

Once my hair had dried, it remained ridiculously soft - and has remained so for the past 5 days, not only that but I have a salon look without any further styling, I can only imagine how it would feel and what it would look like if I had to run a hair straightener over it.

How much? 21.05 EUR each here in Malta, it is a bit more expensive than the other name-brands you would usually buy from the supermarket but it's much more worth it as you don't need to use as much and thus it lasts longer. I will update this post with how long the bottles lasted once I have used them all up.

Feel FABulous

So this is the first Forever product which I had the chance to try. Basically with deadline season coming around I've had to give up everything, TV, going out, shopping, even had to cut back on the amount of time I spent getting ready in the morning, so when I couldn't find anything else to cut back on, the only way I was going to finish my assignments on time, - was to cut back on sleep.

This wasn't going to happen easily because I am a person who needs at least 6 hours of sleep a day otherwise I will not be able to concentrate, so I was seriously dreading everything. I had considered traditional energy drinks but from past experiences I decided against them, they didn't taste nice and they didn't have the desired effect - just my personal opinion.

When my friend told me about this drink I was very skeptical, I mean - an all natural energy drink? seriously? He had one can on him and we tried it together. From the start I knew it was different. The taste is fruitier than other energy drinks. I wanted to call his bluff on the whole "all-natural" thing. Two things stood out: Aloe Vera Gel and Guarana. I knew what Aloe Vera Gel was as that is basically the key ingredient in most of Forever's products. It was the Guarana that got me interested. 

I quickly looked it up and found out that it was a seed from a South African plant which has a high caffeine content - don't believe me, look it up yourself. Anyway, long story short I bought 3 cans as I figured I needed all the help I could get. 

Friday night rolled by, and I started working. Sometime 'round midnight i started yawning and opened up a can, I started sipping it slowly and the sleepiness simply disappeared. Before I knew it, it was 5.45 in the morning and I was not tired one bit. Even more amazing? I hadn't even drunken the whole can - just half. It had one more amazing thing it had to reveal. 

At 5.45am, I wasn't the least bit tired but I couldn't continue working, so I decided to go to sleep. I was worried as I thought "I've just had an energy drink and I'm going to sleep - what's that gonna do to my body?" but I got in bed and fell asleep almost immediately because the beauty of Forever FAB is that it gives you the immediate energy boost you need through the Guarana seed and extends the duration of those high energy levels through the Aloe Vera.

I don't really understand how these things work or how much they would cost - I am just an art student who works part time as a children's animator but according to my team leader, she took the drink to be tested in a lab and they said that with the ingredients that are in the drink, it should easily cost 15-20 EUR but it doesn't. It only costs 3.01 EUR here in Malta, so with less than 10 EUR I got 3 - see how worth it?
